Researchers at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago found that plumper women desired sex more often than thinner women. On scales of erotic excitability and readiness, they outscored thin women by a factor of almost two to one. To ask women to become unnaturally thin is to ask them to relinquish their sexuality.
Fat is sexual in women; Victorians called it affectionately their 'silken layer'. One fifth of women who exercise to shape their bodies have menstrual irregularities and diminished fertility. The body of the model, remember, is 22 to 23 percent leaner than that of the average woman.
According to 6,000 women's responses to an orgasm survey by Weight Watchers magazine 70 percent of fuller-figured women said they almost always have orgasms, compared to just 29 percent of thin women. Thinner women may be on covers of magazines and have a greater selection of clothes to buy, but in this arena at least, it's bigger women who come out on top.
According to Nobel prize-winning geneticist James Watson, chubbier women and men enjoy better sex lives than their thinner counterparts. Watson believes extra pounds make a person well-rounded in character and, therefore, better in bed. What causes this little advantage? According to his research, extra fat boosts endorphins, a natural mood-enhancing chemical and hormone (MSH) linked to sexual desire. Watson adds that in evolutionary terms, "thin equals discontent. Content people have weight on them.“
